The Fox & Goose open mic is the oldest open mic in the Sacramento area. Who knows who you'll see and hear there since almost everyone who plays bluegrass or folk or is an independent singer-songwriter has played there. I don't know who started it more than 20 years ago but John Greene of the Fifth String has hosted it in the past and Joe Craven did it too. Steve McClane hosted it for 13 years and performed on the third Thursday of the month for many years. He's currently there on Wednesdays. Bill Harper hosted it for a while and Roberta Chevrette and Jon and Ken Burnett have hosted it. After hosting it several times in the fall of 2004, Dave Baldwin (smee) became the regular host in January of 2005.
